Support and help for the FlicQ Flashcards iOS app
A spaced-repetition flashcard app for iPhone and iPad. It imports Anki decks, schedules reviews with FSRS, and works offline without an account.
One person builds and answers this app, so replies usually take a day or two. If you’re reporting a bug, the fastest route is Settings → Send Feedback inside the app — it pre-fills your app version, iOS version and device model, which is almost always what’s needed to reproduce a problem. You can read and edit that text before it sends.
Tap + → Import → Import Anki and pick an .apkg file — from Files,
iCloud Drive, or anywhere the iOS file picker can reach. FlicQ keeps the
original formatting: card templates, styling, images, audio, cloze
deletions, furigana, and type-in-the-answer cards.
If a deck arrives by email or AirDrop, save it to Files first, then import it from there.
Almost always AnkiWeb’s rate limit on anonymous downloads. Tap Log in in the Store tab and sign in with your AnkiWeb account — the limit is lifted for signed-in users, and the app remembers the session.
You type your AnkiWeb password into AnkiWeb’s own page. FlicQ never sees or stores it.
Settings → Restore Purchases. This covers a new device, a reinstall, or a purchase that didn’t register. Make sure you’re signed into the same Apple Account that made the purchase.
If it still doesn’t appear, email us with the date of purchase and we’ll help.
Every new install gets three days with Premium unlocked so you can see what it does. It is not a paid trial: nothing is charged when it ends, no subscription starts, and you don’t need to cancel anything. After three days the app returns to the free version.
Settings → Manage Subscription inside FlicQ, or iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling keeps Premium until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us: reportaproblem.apple.com.
Everything — decks, cards, review history, recordings — stays on your device. There’s no account and no server, which is why the app works offline and why nothing you study is visible to us.
The trade-off is that there is no cloud sync between devices yet. To move a deck, export it (Deck → Settings → Export) and import it on the other device.
Yes. Deleting the app removes its local data. Export any deck you want to
keep first — .apkg keeps media and formatting, CSV is text only.
Yes, fully. An internet connection is only used for the Store tab, ads, and crash reports.
Ads keep the free version free. FlicQ Premium removes them entirely, along with unlocking extra themes and streak protection.
You are asked once whether to allow tracking. Declining changes nothing about how the app works — you’ll simply see non-personalised ads. In the EU, UK and Switzerland there’s an additional consent form, and you can reopen it any time from Settings → Privacy & Ad Settings.
Settings → Language. FlicQ is translated into 20 languages and doesn’t have to match your device language.
Streaks count calendar days in your device’s local time zone, so crossing time zones can shift the boundary. If you missed a single day, the app may offer to protect the streak the next time you open it — Premium users get that automatically.
Check that your device isn’t muted or on silent, then confirm the deck’s
Auto-Play Audio setting (Deck → Settings). For imported decks, audio
only plays if the original .apkg actually included the sound files.
FlicQ has no account, collects no analytics, and keeps your study data on your device. Crash reports go to Firebase Crashlytics and ads are served by Google AdMob.
